This strong ale has a complex nose packed with floral notes, marmalade and apricot. Spicy overtones on the palate with a hint of sweetness lead to a lasting bitter finish.

On cask at Ryries. Appearance - golden and clear. Foamy white head. Nose - lemon, meadow flowers and custard. Taste - lemon and custard. Lime zest closes it out. Palate - light bodied, but good mouthful with a crisp finish. Overall - good cask.

Cask at The Ealing Beer Festival 2023, Ealing, London. A slightly hazy golden coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus, orange, tropical fruit taste and aroma. A rather average Oakham beer.

Cask at blackfriars Glasgow ... Crisp golden yellow ... sharp tart american hop nose ... full on sweet piney american hop ... packed full of flavour and wonderfully balanced. A great UK cask ale.

Cask gravity at Planet Thanet BF 08. Oakham’s is pretty much my favourite brewery in the country, so I was really looking forward to this. Which is why I was surprised that I gave it a lowish score. Even trying it the next day, I wasn’t won over. Hazy pale gold colour with bubbly beige head. Very nettley and ascetic hoppy blond beer. It’s got a bit of harshly citric nettle flavour which I wasn’t too keen on. Bit soapy too. Must be just about my lowest scored Oakham beer I think.

Cask at The Hop Pole pubs Easter Beer Festival, Aylesbury in the company of Loz, Chris O, Ruth, Barry, Lynn 21-03-08 This had the most stunning hop nose it really was that just rubbing hops between forefinger and thumb type smell, fantastic. Mid gold in colour, with slight haze and a small white bubbly head. Sweetened grapefruit in the mouth, marmalade wonderful bitter juiciness, what a lovely beer.

Cask at Peterborough Beer Fest. Golden colour. Grapefruity nose. Sweet and hoppy with full body. Soft mouthfeel and seemless citric juicy hop flavour. Growing late bitterness.
