At the brewpub, December 13, 2015. no barrel treatment. Dark brown, thin, lacing head. Very heavily roasted. some coffee character. Sweet malt and some dried fruit, dates and some raisin maybe. A little sweet, some toffee towards the end. The roasted character is too strong for the style and that brings it down a little.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear deep amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has mild dark grains with some bread and a touch of roast. Flavor is thin with a some dark grains and roast with a touch of bread.
