Hades is brewed with a rare Belgian yeast strain that gives a complex spicy flavor and aroma. Noticeable hops and medium malt character make it an extremely well-balanced, crisp ale. Hades goes great with a bowl of fresh mussels, crusty bread, and virtually any artesian cheese.

This beer could have gotten a very high score from me, but it gets low scores on the color and smell. The taste is good and it’s got almost perfect carbo, perfect up to full body and a very nice finish. Too bad.

Love the style of the bottle and glass. Beer wasn’t that good. Smells nice, lacks a bit in taste. Mouthfeel was slightly above average.

Sample at the Rocket City Brewfest. Pours a pale yellow with a thin head. The aroma is citrus, apples and bread. The flavor is very crisp, with a strong and well balanced bitterness and sweetness. The palate is light to medium and sticky, with a lingering, mild aftertaste. Overall, a quality beer.

12 ounce bottle into tulip. Pours crystal clear golden amber color with a 2 finger dense white head with very good retention, that reduces to a thin lacing cap. Some very nice lacing on the glass as well. Aromas of banana, clove, spicy yeast, and bread. Aromas are a bit weak. Taste of banana, cloves, honey, spices, and some other fruitiness. Fairly dry finish, but there is some slight spicy and fruity sweetness that lingers for a brief period after the finish. No bitterness detected in this as well. Medium carbonation and body, has a good mouthfeel for a Belgian style. Overall, this is quite an enjoyable Belgian style from Great Divide.

Funky aroma. Clear yellow, headless. Lots of funk, a little bit of overripe lemon. Pretty one dimensional, but enjoyable.

Bottle: Clear, pale greenish-golden, lazy carbonation, small foamy layer; sweet fuity-musty nose with a hoppy touch; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, only medium bodied; lingering drier hoppy and orangey-fruity finish. Not bad, but not really necessary, though.....

[9/23/10] Bottle at Beer Temple in Amsterdam. Clear golden. Spicy aroma of coriander and some fruitiness. Sweet flavor with a bit of yeast, spiciness, a bit of pale malt and a drier, spicier finish. Medium-bodied.
