330ml bottle. Clear, faint, auburn colour with small, creamy, fading, beige head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, hints of malt lozenge, rock sugar, some dark caramel, whiffs of coffee. Taste is sweet-ish, minimally nutty, dark malty, slightly caramel malty, hints of malt lozenge, a touch of rock sugar, caramel, a bitter touch of burnt caramel combined with some hop bitterness; minimally metallic overtones. Dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, rather indifferent palate, medium, scattered, mildly prickly carbonation. Somehow light, unilateral sweet, disregarding the bitterness which reminds more of burnt caramel than suggesting hoppy provenance - unsatisfactory.

Bottled 330ml. -trade with kappldav123 (thanks David!)
Half year after BBE. Nice dark amber coloured, medium sized off-white head, sweet caramellish nose. Sweet malty, dried fruits and caramel with touch of alcohol in rather dry finish. Not bad.

Bottle courtesy of or shared with ogivlado (not sure if a friend brought him this one or if it wasfrom a trade) Poured a brown-red body with a thick off white head. Malty, sweet nose with notes of dog food, just the way I don’t like it, but not entirely bad because notes of dark cherries emerge and save it. Light taste, maltiness, light dark cherry, dry woody notes, weak chocolate but mostly dull cardboard. Meh. Has some things going for it, some heavily against it.

Thanks to Quack-Duck for this beer. Bottle looks simple but good, the beer in the glass dark, but not black. Starts strong and malty, dry, not too roasty. Notes of caramel, a bit oily. Warming finish, not alcoholic. Good doppelbock!

Bottle (thanx to Quack-Duck!): Ruby-amber coloured, clear, big persistent tanned head; moderate caramelly-roasty nose with a very faint tinge of dried fruits ans alcohol in the background; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; relatively light dry fruity and roast-malty finish with a subtle bitter touch. A very restrained Doppelbock.....
