A refreshing thirst-quenching bitter, with an exceptional taste and light amber colour. We brew a rounded malty base from finest English malted barley in the mash tun and combine it with the fresh local Fuggles and Goldings whole hop flowers in the copper to achieve a long lasting finish. Brewed to be enjoyed by gardeners or gentry alike.

50cl bottle. Pours amber with gentle bubbles and a decent head. The nose has toffee and biscuits. The taste has biscuits, hay and some grapes. The palate is medium to large in structure and texture and there is a nice fresh finish. Overall, a nice balanced session ale.

Bottle. Amber beer with a strongish head. The aroma is lightly fruity and hopped and the flavour is watery, creamy and gently bitter. Overall a plain/poorish beer.

500ml bottle from Hog’s Back Beer Shop. Clear reddish copper with thin off white head. Yeasty toffeeish hop aroma. Bit light on the flavours in the mouth, would expect it to be a bit better to be honest. Bit too carbonated and a little tinny yet it is bottle conditioned. Caramel toffee flavour runs through it butter overall the lasting sensation is this over carbonation. Lacks the usual hoppiness from this brewery.

A hazy orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is very lightly fruity, and the flavor is sweet with light notes of fruit, but also light acidic notes. The body is thin. I’m disappointed, thinking of most of the fine beer from Hogs Back.
