Roused by William Blake's Jerusalem, Wells Sanatic Mills epitomises all that is great in English brewing. Like the original Bombardier Premium Bitter, this rich, dark ale is uniquely brewed using natural mineral water from an independently accredited source; our own well. Created by Wells and Young's, Satanic Mills uses the finest English 'Fuggles' and 'Goldings' hops. Sampled by hand, only the most flavoursome part of the ripest hops is used, guaranteeing a delicious fruity aroma and exceptionally smooth palate. Satanic Mills is brewed using 'Ale' and 'Chocolate' malt, intensely roasted to give the ale its dark colour and intense depth of flavour. The malt is carefully crushed, not ground to enhance the complex flavours.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a brown shine under a brown head. The aroma has light notes of both sweet and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet wtih notes of roasted malt as well as light notes of roasted coffee and cocoa, leading to a dry, bitter, and roasted finish.

Aroma of coffee and burnt barley. Very dark looking beer, head is a little thin though. Tastes like burnt wood, beans, coffee, barley. Quite bitter aftertaste. I’m not totally familiar with the style but it could use just a little more complexity.

Bottle at home ... Deep black with thick off white head that persisits quite well ... light roat with a little coffee in the nose ...nice roasted malts ... some soft milk sugar notes ... little chocolate ... soft carbonation and a nice rounded body .... nice long soft chocolate with just a little bitterness in linger... This is a lovely gentle warming poter just right for a cold wintersday huddled round an open fire, chatting to your mates. A real good showing from Wells and Young
