Cask (backlog). Coppery brown colou with not too much head. Aroma is caramel malts, sweet fruityness, some ripe fruits and mild plummy notes. Flavour is similar, but with the sweet fruits being more evident. Nice mellow bitterness in the finish along with some chocolate.

Cask-conditioned at the Inn on the Green, Bristol 18/02/10. Near black with a hint of red and decent, off-white head. Sweetish aroma of milk chocolate, coffee and dark forest fruits. Flavour had a sweet edge, with caramel, fruit & nut chocolate and a hint of roastiness in the finish. Very drinkable.

(Cask at Wenlock Arms, London, 8 Aug 2008) Brown colour with ruby hints, frothy beige head. Roasted nose with notes of freshly ground coffee, chocolate and dried fruit. Roasted taste with dark fruit, coffee and prunes. Moderate bitterness. Rather thin body, but a tasty mild.

Cask handpull at Yew Tree Inn, Barfrestone. Like many of the reviews I have to give this mild a thumbs up. Black beer with thin dark beige head. Bit of dark toffee/treacle and lots of dark choc. More choc/coffee in mouth with some grainyness. Not a lot of hop but this is a good mild.
