Arron Spinney was our first head brewer when we opened in 2014, brewing here for 3 years before opening Merit Brewing. So, it’s only fitting that Spinney is back to collaborate with one of our brewers, Jon Park, on the first beer in our X Brewers Series. A Porter infused with locally grown mushrooms, it’s malt forward with hints of chocolate and umami. This unique beer showcases everything that Spinney and Sawdust are known for, quality with experimentation and excitement.

This porter poured a deeper black colour with a creamy, brown head. Medium lacing. Scents include dark roast coffee, black toast, cocoa and caramel. First swig was delicious and creamy and slightly thinner... Flavours of cocoa, coffee, earth and toast. Finish is burnt almost like a stout with coffee and cocoa flavours lingering.
