The opening hiss suggests that this is a lively beer. It pours with energetic effervescence and a billowing, frothy white head. Dry pale bread in the nose, some lemon peel, slight phenolic notes, biscuits, hay. Light sweet flavour, fairly dry, with more biscuity pale malts, hints of wheat, mellow bitter straw and grass, a little grain husk. The beer is light in body with vibrant, massaging carbonation. Finishes clean and dry, with further straw, wheat flakes, biscuits, citrus peel, slight grassy bitterness. This certainly isn’t a ’wow’ beer, but it is well balanced and makes for easy drinking.
