Bottle, kindly provided by Pivnizub. Hazy orange golden, golden creamy head. Bready and light estery nose - orangepeel, fermented plums. Grainy flavorbase, light dusty, good grassy bitterness in the back of the throat, fruits retronasal. Solid body and light sparkly mouthfeel. A bit dust in the finish.

Bottle: Deep golden coloured, stable white, almost creamy head; fruity, malty (sweet malt, toasted malt) nose with a touch of hops; distinctive sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied; honeyish-malty, almost vinous traces in the robust sweet-bitter finish. All in all a quite well balanced Bock, a bit on the sweet side.........

(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a medium-sized, slightly yellow foamy head. Sweet bready, slightly caramel-malty aroma with a liquorice-like spicy note and shy herbal hops. Sweet flavour, full bodied, smooth mouthfeel. Solid malty, slightly toasty taste with an underlying, subtle fruit-character; moderately sweet malty finish with a whiff of hoppy bitterness at the very end. A bit too sweet but all in all a decent pale (Doppel-)Bock.

Das Bier hat ein wenig aufwendiges aber dennoch recht ansprechendes Etikett, in dem in einer typischen Wappenform am Rande die Brauerei steht, in der Mitte groß WOHN, darunter Heller Bock. In mikroskopischer Schrift auch noch ’Premium Qualität’. Oben am Wappen ist in einem Oval ein Bach in einer Berggegend zu erkennen. Der Schaum ist durchschnittlich. Der Antrunk ist bockbiertypisch würzig mit deutlichem Hopfenton. Im Mittelteil ist weniger würzig und hopfig, dafür übernimmt ein sanfter malziger Ton die Überhand und leitet das Bier in einen gut balancierten und recht milden Abgang, in dem der einzige Grund hinzukommt, warum dies kein perfektes Bier ist: ein - wenn auch nur geringer - alkoholischer Unterton. Nobody’s perfekt, aber dieses Bier ist sehr nah dran!! Test vom 2.6.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,14,13,12,14,14 - 13,05
