Unique Belgian beer, top fermented and with bottle conditioning. This Easterbeer is a balanced equilibrium between sweet and bitter, between body and freshness. It has a malty and fruity nose with a thick, round froth. It is brewed in the rich tradition of the StBernardus Brewery, using only the very best malts, hops and sugars. Our own yeast and the specific water of the brewery give our beers depth and strength. This Easterbeer lives up to our credo: StBernardus, bringing heavenly nectar within reach.

Many thanks for this retired beer to tderoeck. Thanks Tim.

Largely exported Easter beer version of Sint-Bernardus Prior, with moussy, stable, yellowish white head and deep, hazy bronze colour. Aroma of caramel, dried apricots, candied figs, candi sugar, overripe pear, bread, chocolate, some spices. Dark fruity and sweetish onset, soft caramelly maltiness, spiced but in a more restrained way than Sint-Bernardus Christmas Ale, yeasty, light spicy hop bitterishness in the finish along with warming alcohol. Very good, but I had not expected anything less from this Westvleteren-related brewery.

Bottle @ home, special thanks to Rene’s wife for picking this up 18 months ago. Fairly clear, reddish orange appearance with a tiny, off-white head that dissipates quickly. Strong candy sugar, rich cherry/berry fruity/estery, caramel aroma. Fairly balanced yet sweet fruity, lightly herbal, raspberry/cherry/plum, somewhat spicy flavor. Pretty good beer.

Draft in a snifter. Deep amber poor, great retention. Caramel, with some dried fruit. Taste is much the same as nose. Meduim body. Sweet finish. It’s decent. Not a huge fan.

Little cloudy dark brown beer, beige creamy head, pretty stable and a bit adhesive. Aroma: anise, liquorice, some other spices, caramel. MF: good carbon, medium body. Taste: little sweet, lots of anise, spices and a little hop bitter, sweet caramel in the end. Aftertaste: sweet alcohol, some bitter. Nice beer but a bit young still. The other two bottles will sleep in the basement till next Easter.

Bottled. Cloudy brown, creamy head. Aroma of banana and caramel. Above medium bodied with soft, spritzy mouthfeel. MIldly warming with caramelly malt. Balanced and quite hermonious, if a bit heavy on banana.

Hazy brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, dried fruit, light yeasty, dark sugar and spicy. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and bitter finish. The high carbonation does ruin the mouth feel a bit. 260411
