330 ml bottle. Clear brown body with a fine beige head. Aroma of dried fruit, caramel and sweet malt. Flavor is rather sweet, malty and spicy. Aftertaste has a pleasant bitterness. Nice Belgium beer, but not outstanding.

Danish-Belgian cooperation that turns out quite well. 330ml compact bottle from Vinmonopolet (Harstad). Great clarity in a deep, golden brown body. Pretty yellow brown foam blanketing the glass. Fresh fruity aroma with roastiness. Rounded, moderate taste of spicy sweetness, hints of burnt malts and anise. Ends up with a short brush of bitterness. Medium palate (12.12.2006).

Big coarse light brown head shrinks rapidly. Dark red body with some carbonation. Sweet licorice aroma with notes of wood and cardamom. Unusual aroma. Sweet, sharpish taste of wood, licorice, and cardamom. Relatively thin-bodied, but lots of taste. Some alcohol heat. This is quite good, but nothing spectacular. (0.33l bottle.)

Bottled. Pours clear, sparkling, brown with a deep reddish hue and a creamy, beige, lasting head leaving nice lacings. Sweet and lightly spiced aroma with dried fruits and vinous notes. The flavor has a good deal of sweetness, along with spices, prunes, dried apricot, wine-notes and alcohol. Warming, full-bodied and a bit oily mouthfeel. The finish is quite spiced, with the alcohol coming stronger towards the very end. Will buy more of this one for sure. (061113)

330 ml bottle (BB 13/09/09). Now also available in Norway (Vinmonopolet). Copper coloured, huge light tan creamy and lingering head. Moderate but pleasant aroma of dark fruits, spices and oak, hints of claret. Flavour has plenty of malts, caramel, Christmas spices, Christmas fruitcake and oak, hints of sherry. Not too sweet. Nice mouthfeel, pleasant to drink. Definitely a treat for "Julemanden" (Father Christmas / Santa Claus).

Dark brown color; filtered; frothy head. Aroma of caramel and candi. The mouthfeel is not strong enough, the taste is simply dry caramel, and at the end there is some unpleasant metallic touch. Warming alcohol.

Bottled (BB 09/2008)
Dark ruby color with decent tan head. Aroma of dried plums and dates mixed with weak cold coffee and menthol. Flavor is quite similar to aroma, lots of Christmasy fruits, semi-sweet with some spices (clove?). Hiding alcohol very well. (6/4/6/3/13 3.2(
Re-rated bottle BB 09/2008
Dark ruby color, small tan head. Dark fruity (plums, raisins) and lightly caramelly nose. Dry but dark fruity (raisin, fig, plum). Some dry toasted notes. Typical Xmas beer. (7/4/6/3/13 3.3)

A deep red beer with a huge brown head. The aroma has strong notes of berries, but also some hints of dust. The flavor is sweet malty and again with strong notes of berries, combined with cinnamon and hints of alcohol. The end is quite sweet.
