(Draught at Nörrebro Bryghus, Copenhagen, 28 March 2008) Reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with notes of caramel, chocolate and toffee. Malty taste with dark berries and fruit, cherries, toffee and chocolate. Nice, spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, rather sweet. Tasty and nice brown ale.

Beautiful amber (to dark amber) color; creamy head. An ordinary Ale, a bit fruity, but spoiled by what, to me, seems to be a light infection.

From tap at brewpub. Poured deep brown with a shortlasting light brown head. Aroma is strong caramel malt, almost toffee like. Taste starts caramel sweet. Flowery hop notes are joining in but only to go down in a strong toffee, choco and caramelly malt ensemble. Finish is wellbalanced malt and bitterness.

Dark ruby with a lasting head. Good malty caramel aroma. Somewhat thin and with alcohol presence, I thought it lacked some bitterness for balance.

On tap at Nøgne Ø. Unclear, brown beer with a nice, beige head. Light roasted malt, caramel, hints of dried fruits, hops and some smokeyness in the aroma. The flavor starts lightly roasted too, with malt, caramel, dried fruits and sweetness following. Full-bodied and with a nice sweetness and some bitterness in the finish. A pleasant beer, but it could use a bit more of it all. (060602)

Draught. Weak malty aroma. Cloudy brown colour, small light brown head. Some roasted, dusty malt flavour. A bit low on the aftertaste, but a little vinous. OK, creamy mouthfeel.
