Bottle at GBBF 2006. Thanks to Ungstrup for this. Crystal clear chestnut colour with thin beige head. Sweet aroma of malt and nougat. Syrupy. It’s strong in alcohol. Burnt flavours. Just way too strong, but good toffee flavour.

Bottled. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma of alcohol, plum, malts and some caramel. Flavour of alcohol, sweet burnt sugar, plum, malts and caramel. A bit gluelike sweetness also as it goes a bit water. No aftertaste.

Bottled 750ml #5799 (BB 06/2006). Amber color, no head. Toasted barley, candy sugar and burnt brown sugar in the aroma. Medium-bodied. Toasted bread, sugar in toffeish palate. As expected: warming. The first impression is that this is a bit too simple, but after sipping more this feels better and more complex.

[Bottled at Købehavnske Øldage] Clear amber. Resiny hop aroma. Sweet, vinous and full bodied. Really malty. Like in English barley wines it is dominated by sweet maltiness. Medium bitterness. A likable barley wine!

Clear copper color with white head. Taste and smells of dark fruits, sweet malts and caramel. It has a vinous aroma. You can only sense the high alcohol. More taste than Jacobsens other beers. I was quite impressed - better than expected!

Bottled. Dark golden with a small offwhite head. Sweet and malty aroma with some alcohol. Warming, sweet malty flavor with a light bitterness at the end. Full body. Carlsberg gets points for trying, but I am not over-impressed by their beers. Maybe it is because they don’t always follow the styles, or maybe it is because it is Carlsberg. The beers are not bad, they just don’t appeal that much to me. (051028)

Bottle. Surprisingly little aroma. Reddish chestnut colour. Very small head. The flavour, on the other hand, has some power. Very malty, nice strong bonbon flavour. Balanced quite well against the alcohol. I like this one.

[Draft] A hazy amber beer with a nice dense orange head. The aroma is sweet and very hoppy and rich in fruits - fruits that are very close to being over ripe, and therefore have this sweetness to them, the main fruit I pick up is peach. The flavor has the same sweetness from almost over ripe fruits, as the aroma contains, I pick up notes of peaches and figs, but I also pick up notes of nuts, and Christmas cake - or is it just the candied lemon peel? The end is dry and still quite sweet, since the hops is mainly in the aroma. Served way too cold, around 5 degrees Centigrade. Except for the low serving temperature, this is a nice brew.
