A bit disappointing for a Belgian beer. Quite non-descript euro lager. Draught at Leffe Bar, La Rochelle.

(Keg at a bistro in Rennes, 20240610) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grass, sweetness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, metal, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, grainy and bitter. A clean beer with some nice flavours.

Tap at La Stua Arzignano, very expensive 6.50 for a 0.4, whatever. Presents itself very classy, crystal clear golden body with a solid white head. Flavor relatively intense of grany pale malts, macro-style lagery feel and hops profile, solid body, bit heavier than usual. Flattish taste, dry finish. Ok, robust, clean.

In Paris, gezapft. Klares Gelb, wenig Schaum. Dünnes Lager, süßlich, ohne Charakter. Lediglich zum Durst löschen geeignet.

’Luxe pils’, one of the last Belgian representatives of a more ’luxurious’ form (though only superficially) of pale lager inspired by Carlsberg and Tuborg in the seventies. Bright yellowish blonde lager with grainy and malt sweet profile, some corn, spicy hops in the finish like in its Danish predecessors, but still a boring and industrial standard lager.
