Cask at the Claude du Vall (JDW), Camberley. Golden copper with a tight cream head that laces the glass nicely; fruit and grain on the aroma; fruity flavour with a touch of coffee; the finish is lightly bitter with some citrus. A very flavoursome pint.

From cask at Sheffield Tap. Pours clear and golden deep hazzlenut brown with a creamy, small and tan head. Aroma is fruity and caramel. Flavour is sweet, light fruity and roasted malty. Rather fruity and somewhat bitter into the finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 2/12/09. Attractive, reddish-brown in colour with a decent, lacy, off-white head. This was dominated by bitterness, with a touch of sweetness upfront and not a great deal else. Not my favourite Acorn beer by a long way.

[Cask at the Hobgoblin, Reading] Deep amber-brown with a large off-white head. Slight fizz. Deep, earthy bitterness at first, then lots of spice comes through (chilli and coriander?). Sweet malt mixes well with the spiciness and helps offset the bitterness. Still a little too bitter for my liking, but despite that a fine beer.

Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, light to moderate hoppy, notes of licorice / tobacco. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is light to medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat. (180108)

Cask at the Smithfield, Manchester Poured a very dark brown colour, quite dryish, malts show through quite well, really quite a tasty beer.
