Very dark brown beer - but just about transparent! Dry but soft palate. Tangy fruit - porterish. Dark chocolatey malt that is a little bitter. Palate slightly too dry but a well tasty beer!

Cask-conditioned at the Bag ONails, Bristol 22/04/09. Black with a decent, off-white head. Big, dark chocolate aroma, with some roastiness and dried fruit. Flavour was similarly chocolately, with some sweetness before a decent enough bitter finish. Enjoyable.

Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Black/very dark brown with thin dark beige head. Choccy/blackcurrant aroma, a little sour too. Bit of liquorice, bit watery in mouth, but very nice grainy choc on end. Not great condition cos getting towards end of barrel, but then again only 99p a pint. Some good choc on finish mind. Given better condition this would be excellent.
