Cask at Spread Eagle, Ipswich. Aroma is certainly smoky over coffee. Dark and glossy. Creamy beige head recedes. Flava is smoky with a tangy berry edge. Flows into creamy coffee. Medium bodied. Creamy but watered down. Flat-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Nice. After the ar9ma was expecting more smoke bur eventually it's a polite non-intrusive beer.

Black as the night with a bubbly tan head. Ok intensity in the aroma. Fine body and a fine carbonation level. Quite balanced sweetness. Coffee, toffee and some roast in the flavor. Tasty and easy drinkable stout.

By gravicask at Chelmsford & Mid Essex Winter Beer Festival. Shared with Cunningham. Black as pitch. Low fawn-coloured head. Smell of dough and chocolate. Mixed taste of toffee and dark dough with a coffee backdrop. Medium bodied. Smooth in the mouth. Pretty alright (17.02.2017).

Gravity cask at the Cambridge Winter Ales Festival 2017. Very dark brown and translucent with a tonsure of khaki head. Smells of oak with some liquorice and stone fruit. Taste is far too sweet but I’m mollified by the spicy hop and smoky liquorice which usher in the finish. Still there’s an artifice milky sweetness - like a chocolate milk drink - in the aftertaste. A tough one to rate as it is such a mixed bag.
