Rich mahogany in colour with a thick, creamy head, this contemporary take on the classic Scottish 80 Shilling style is fermented low and slow to let the grains do the talking. Maris Otter, wheat, rye, Aromatic and Black malts offer a luscious combination of toffee, fresh-baked bread and apple crumble on the nose and an inviting silky mouthfeel encourages a generous first sip. A velvet smooth concoction of dried fruit and caramel pairs with subtle resin citrus infused from fresh spruce tips, along with just enough rounded hop bitterness to ensure a clean, crisp finish.
Wood-panelled bar rooms are evoked, this beer is about everyday opulence; polished but superbly drinkable.

Can from Raynville Superstore. It pours clear deep reddish - brown with a small off - white head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, raisin, currants, sultana, fug, cherry cola, brown bread, caramel, malt loaf, fruit loaf and wood. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, bitterness lingers, black tea, toffee, dried fruits, raisin, sultana, fig, fruit loaf, sappy, resin, spruce, touch green, brown bread and a touch of coffee with a drying finale. Medium body and average carbonation. Spruce adds a nice dimension to this. Enjoyable and interesting.

Clear, dark amber beer, thin fizzy white head. Some classic British hop aroma in there and a bit of sweet malt. Basically does what it says on the tin, it's a take on an 80/. Doesn't deviate that much from the formula. Smooth and fruity, sweet malt, some of the hops again. Toffee and sugar in there too. It's pretty decent.

Clear, dark ruby beer, big bubbly head. Light aroma of sweet maltiness and toffee. Flavour is dried fruit, malt, toffee, a little spice. Not exciting but pretty decent.
