This sweet wine made from honey has been popular in England since Medieval Times. We follow the age old tradition of fermenting grape and apple juices with honey, using modern fermentation techniques to produce this invigorating beverage.

It makes a good hot toddy when mixed with Whisky or makes a mouth-watering dessert when added to thick natural yoghurt. On a hot summer’s day, it is deliciously refreshing sipped with ice-cubes.

Historically a honeymoon drink or wedding wine, Mead is said to be an aphrodisiac!

Bottle shared at House of Fergus. Pours clear, very pale yellow with a few bubbles. The nose has rich honey, ripe apples, subtle caramel, some lemon creme. Medium to big sweet flavor with light dried honey, some alcohol, gooey white sugars, stewed apples. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Warm and sticky on the finish, some sticky apple juice, some mellow honey, slight alcohol. Pretty solid. Fairly drinkable.
