Brutal bitter is a imperial bitter and one of the original hazy beers that dates back more than 20 years. Brewed and dry hopped with 100% Rogue Farms Alluvial hops that exhibit flavors and aromas of peach (no fruit added). The malt adds good structure, some nuttiness and provides a deep golden hue.

2018 rating: MIsty golden-amber body, off white head. Tropical aroma, brown sugar. Light tropical hops on soft malty body. Solid, okay IPA.Initial rating, 2016 or 2017: Thanks Karlo and Ivan R. Misty golden body, small white head. Light tropical fruit from the hops and apples on dry caramelly maltiness. Taste... Cheese and citrus. Vague tropical touch. Good body, silky on medium carbonation, but the taste... Chalk it up on not traveling well and light oxidation.

Having been disappointed in other Rogue Nation offerings I had small expectations for Brutal. That was a mistake, this is easily my favorite from them so far. Bought in a mixed six pack at the local supermarket, I poured into a tall bar glass. The color is fine, a dark yellow-amber. It heads nicely and that stays throughout. Scent is minimal, grass and lemon. Taking a drink I got some moderate hoppiness, bread and perhaps a bit of malt. The finish is quite all right with a decent bitterness lingering for awhile. Very drinkable and a complementary 6.3% ABV. Maybe a bomber of this next time.

0.33 l bottle from Pivoteka, Zagreb. Shared with Višnja 666 and Goran. Thanks! Very murky, almost opaque orange, small off-white head. Flat, not fresh. Hop aromas, fruity, light raspberry, citrus, malts. Sweet, no bitterness. Flat, medium body, soft carbonation, abrupt finish. Unfortunately flat, so don’t count this one. 0.33 l bottle shared with Marko and Anna God. Murky golden, small off-white head. Moderately hoppy, citrus, zest, herbs. Hops low in flavour, malts emerging, spicy hops in finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation, moderate finish. Solid.

Hazy, orange-amber colored, medium off white frothy head. Aroma is of malt, caramel, mild pine, orange hardcandy, more caramel. Taste is medium sweet malt, caramel, orange hard candy, some fruity, floral and citrus hops, medium to light aroma, medium- bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bit oily. I’m guessing the hops didn’t make it to the shop. Disappointing, definitely need to repeat... (bottle, Pivoljub Ljubljana)

Appearance- amber, a bit cloudy, a small bubbly white head. Aroma- creamy malt, caramel, marmalade, orange, hints of piney hops. Taste- bitter hops, orange peel, juicy fruit, quite a lot of sweet maltiness, fairly full mouthfeel. More depth of flavour comes out as it warms.
