Bottle from the brewery. An orange/amber coloured pour with a smallish head. Fruity, caramel aroma. Tastes quite sweet, malty, dark fruit, caramel, honey. A nice drop.

Bottle from Rainhall Drinks Co, Accrington. Opened to drink a toast to Guy + Noo’s arrival of a wee bundle of joy. A reddy amber pour with minimal head. Nose was sweetish with apple and booze notes. Flavour had sweet malt, with more fruitiness and alcohol. A bit of spice and bitterness towards the finish. Drinkable, but somewhat forgettable fayre. Sorry Betsy, should have cracked a better one in your honour. ...

A nice small 275ml bottle conditioned ale bought at The-real-ale-in-a-bottle-bar, GBBF 09. Comes with a brass-copper coloured foil around the neck and poured a bright amber coloured body, topped by a few bubbles to a thin, patchy surface. Sweet malts to the nose added by dark fruits. Dried fruits like raisin and apricot in flavour mingled with notes of caramel malts and with some spices, too. Warming alcohol and smooth in the mouth. Somewhat short on the finish. Rather sweet. Good, if not great (Tromsø, 15.02.2010).

Bottle from Wyevale garden centre, Bicester, Oxon, 19-04-09, consumed 21-04-09 Pours orange amber colour with a small fast departing off white head. Continuing the orange theme there is more than a nod to orange in the flavour department, with some bitterness being carried forth on a heavy blanket of alcohol, maybe the alcohol is showing a little too much. Its sweet and quite fruity but not as sweet as expected. Overall quite an enjoyable beer. A6 A3 F6 P3 Ov13 3.1
