Not the blackest black IPA ever! Deep dark brown with a ruby tinge and a frothy tan head. Some dark fruit and hops on the nose, smooth and a little bit silky, roasted malt with dark fruit notes and a little bit of citrus bitterness

Cask at Tilly Shilling, Farnborough 21/02/20. Slightly sour malty aroma. Dark cola brown. Foamy blotchy beige head. Medium-heavy bitter. Spicy. Medium bodied. Slick-creamy. Flat carbonation. Astringent. Hoppy and dark. Didn't spot what the style was and I thought it was a bit of a bland Black IPA.

Half-pint, cask, shared with Finn at Bishop's Hill. Remaining fawn-coloured head. Pitch black body, fair lacing. Promising smell of roasted malts, mid-sweet. Blended taste of cocoa, dried fruits and dark berries. Roasted malt bitter end. Easy to drink. Nice. (Durham 29.01.2020).

Cask at Moon under Water, Wolverhampton Pours a very dark reddish brown with a good cream head and good lacing. Nose is unremarkable – just some roast malts. It the mouth it is malty with a mixture of berries and toffee. A bitter finish to round things off. This is a top quality mild.

Cask at Bree Louise. Dark brown, not much beige head. Aroma is fruity and roast malt. Bit of chocolate and a bit of citrus. Washing up liquid lemon bizarrely. Taste is very smooth, dark fruit, lots of roastiness, and a touch of stink, but not bad. --- Beer merged from original tick of Black Ice on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:06 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7.
