So easy drinking, Black Ice can cause even experienced travellers to slip up. A powerfully hopped black ale with citrus notes. A seriously easy sinkable beer!

Cask at Hamilton Hall, London. Not really a mild, nor totally typical of a black IPA, which is how it's described elsewhere. Sits somewhere inbetween. Pours chestnut brown with a small beige head. Aroma of citrus, hop, malt and chocolate with light roasting. Moderate sweetness, medium to heavy bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Increasing bitterness to finish.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a bubbly off white head. The aroma is light smoky malt, some light hop. The flavour is over light smokey malt bitter with a smooth light, slightly watery hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Light bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Very dark red (or brown if there’s no natural light on the beer). Has a creamy-smooth head with a red berry sweetness in both its aroma and taste. Relatively smooth tasting.
