Imperial Brown Ale
This bold, brown ale gets its body from a team of malts including caramel malt for sweetness, flaked barley for dense foam, a bit of chocolate malt for its deep color, and aromatic and Munich malts to add even more depth. German and Perle hops add a touch of bitterness to balance the malty sweetness. The addition of rich Sumatra coffee takes this perfectly balanced brown ale to a decadent level.

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Clear mahogany with beige head and a few floaters. Lots of caramel, sweet coffee, toffee, sugar, light cocoa. Mostly sweet malts with coffee, maybe light maple and brown leaves. Light dark bread. Over medium sweet and medium bitter. Over medium bodied with light alcoholic finish.

Bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with shades of ruby and airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, with notes of caramel and fruit, and estery touches. Bitter, roasty and hoppy onset, with sweetish notes of malt and touches of nuts and yeast. Bitter, roasty aftertaste with estery hints. Warming alcohol presence. Rich, well-balanced and very nice.

Really needed a 9% beer last night. Thanks Rachel for adding a shot of Mad Elf to it.
