Cask at the "Southern Ale Adventure" Beer Festival at the Prince of Wales, Farnborough. Interesting to see that this hasn’t been rated for a while, so presumably it’s making a comeback - to me, this is everything an English bitter should be. It’s a bright chestnut colour with a loose cream head; the taste is a spectacular combination of Kentish hops and treacle toffee; leading to a dry finish. A really satisfying pint.

Cask, Kings Head, Kingsdown, Kent. Dark reddish brown looks with a slight beige head. Fairly subdued sweet malt aroma. Largely unremarkable malt driven flavour. A little thin and watery with some hop bitterness towards the finish. Drinkable, but not especially worth lingering over.

Cask at GBBF 2007. A brown beer with an orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also a light chocolate note in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is smooth.
