Simpkiss Bitter was previously brewed by J P Simpkiss & Son in Brierley Hill as Simpkiss Ale. Sadly, the Dennis brewery closed in 1985 but is warmly remembered by older drinkers in the West Midlands. A taste to remember and one you won’t forget. That’s why Enville bought the recipe!

Cask at the London & North Western, Birmingham. Clear light amber with smooth off white head, good lacing. Bready malt with overripe stone fruits and not much in the way of flavouring hops. There is a nice sessionable balance to it though.

Cask, Gravity at the on site Festival Bar Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Friday 22nd August 2014 Pours orangey gold/light amber with a sprinkling of bubbles. A light fruity bite, twangy, dry and lacking in sweetness which is absolutely fine. The bitterness is actually more of a steady light bitter, dry, not sweet thing. Its fine. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.2
