A smooth and inviting Abbey-style dubbel, this brew is balanced heavily toward the malt, lending rich caramel and dark fruit notes. The addition of dark Belgian candy syrup adds a rummy, fig like character, further enhancing the depth of this wonderful libation. Spicy, fruity, and subtly warming on the way down.

Sampled at the Funky 8 - Brooklyn, NYC. Another good one from Dock Street. Dubbels can often be a bit cloying but I thought this one struck a good balance. Plenty of brown sugar, rich malts, ripe semi-dark fruits. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Mellow warmth to finish, sugary malts, bread, caramel. Nice.
