Flaske 0,7l mottatt som gave fra Jan Erik under vår årlige grillfest 27 Aug 09. Thanks! Konsumert 1 Sep 09. Mørk amber farge. Høyt lysebrunt skum. Pent utseende. Aromaen er maltig. Litt syrlig. Søt fruktig og vinøs smak. Lav karbonering. Litt uvariert men ok bitterhet i ettersmaken - som varer lenge. KI=4

(Bottled 0,7 l, BB 02/2009). Clear dark ruby color, small steady beige head. Light grainy caramel aroma, some burned caramel/rubber notes. Thin watery palate, quite carbonated. Brown sugar, toffee, caramel (and crystal?) malts, metallic notes. Also some earthiness, both in aroma and flavor. Short and light grassy, brown sugary aftertaste. Such a boring beer in a quite elegant (and expensive) bottle. Is this really an ale? More like those Scandinavian Christmas Viennas.

750 ml bottle. Reddish brown body with a disappearing off/white head. Aroma of sweet caramel and brown sugar. Flavor is sweet malt and caramel, not so much more. Quite light and actually harmonic but not complex at all. I guess that’s more than less what this beer is supposed to be, but frankly – it’s quite boring.

200ml on tap at Apropos on Halmtorvet, Copenhagen. Deep palisander body. Ring of bubbles at the surface. Burnt caramel aroma. Very sweet taste containing honeyed malts and candy sugar. Alright, but gets a bit too sweet for a higher score (29.05.2008).

Very faint aroma. Whatever there is, it seems to be okay. Clear dark looks, reddish, brown. small head small bubbles. Nice flavor. I just had a "Rød Tuborg" and this one has lots more taste. Licorice, sugar, alc. not at all dominant. Tastes great. Palate not watery, also good. I like this one, esp. considering it’s not a microbrew. Sort of reminds me of "KB juleøl" with some more alc in it.

Brown with medium off white head. Sweet malty aroma with caramel notes. Caramel malty flavor with almost no hops.

Brown with an off white creamy head. Aroma is deep malty - caramel, slight sweet & fruity. Medium bodied. Soft mouthfeel/medium carbonation. A hint of smokes malts. Very easy drinkable & decent, and in my opinion the best in the kongens bryghus series!

Bottled. Dark ruby, brief head. Sweet and syrupy with some molasses and vegetables. Sticky harsh mouthfeel. Ultraprimitive. Useless.

Dark ruby with a big off-white head. Big caramel aroma, malty and with a hint of smoke. Sweet slightly fruity flavour, surprisingly thin and weak flavour.
