A dark strong ale brewed specially for the great Danish beer bar "Plan B". Brewed with Simcoe hops and lots of lovely beet sugar. Available in keg and in bottle in very limited quantities. Of course unpasteurized, unfiltered and bottle conditioned like all of our beers.

Cloudy dark brown beer, frothy biscuit coloured head. Nose is of a strong barleywine. Taste follows the nose - dry and frothy with an extended bitter hop finish. Decent and tasty barleywine but over dry.

Handbottle thanks to bu11zeye, marked with 65j. Pours with a large, tan head and a hazed amber body. Aroma of raisins, cherry, plum, toffee, chocolate, light alcohol, and dank Simcoe hops. Taste is earthy with a lot of caramel, light herbal hops, alcohol, dark fruits, raisins, and a good bitterness. Light bubbles and dryish for the style. Tastes like a good Barley Wine to me.

Fairly herbal hops, the simcoe I guess. Chesnut colour, low creamy head. Pine, grass, peach. Medium to light body. Very nice.

Deep copper with a lasting off-white head. Intense hop aroma, fresh hops, citrus and pine. Bitter with a malty sweetness, and a hint of alcohol. Drinks like any 7% IPA...

Draught at Plan B, Copenhagen, 2007-05-25, 9-4-9-5-18=45
Aroma 9: hops, pine needles, dust, Fuggles too, mint… Explosive
Flavor 8: strong mouthfeel, full malt flavor, rubharb candies (sweet caramel and a hint of toffee), light roasted malt (this is a nice thing)
Palate 5: still quite sweet, making it dangerously drinkable; warming alcohol feeling
Why not?

Draught at Københavnske Øldage 2007, 2007-05-13, 9-4-9-5-18=45
Hazy brown color. Lovely hops (resiny, mellow, fruity…) and malt (sweet, sticky), with caramel. Extreme and incredible.

Draught @ Plan B, Copenhagen. Pours a murky brown color with an off-white head. Has a malty hoppy aroma with hints of pine and citrus. Sweet malty hoppy bitter flavor with some citrus hints and also some hints of caramel. Sweet malty and slightly alcoholic finish with a long bitteraftertaste.

On tap at Københavnske øldage 07. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is hop, fruit, berries. Flavour is very hoppy, fruit, berries, citrus, pine, alcohol. Too much hop for my taste, but, still, ok.

Draft. A murky dark brown beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet and very hoppy, the hops giving it a grassy note, but also with a caramel note from the malt. The flavor is very sweet and very hoppy, the hops giving it notes of grass, while the malt gives it notes of caramel and brown sugar, and the alcohol leaves a slight bite, but the bitter end definately makes You want another sip - and if Plan B is about to close You want another serving. Nice, though a bit one dimensional.

On tap at Københavnske Øldage. Dark brown beer, looking almost clear, with a beige head. Lots of tropical fruits in the aroma, as well as roasted malt, beef-stock and pine. Tropical fruits like peach and apricot, as well as orange-note in the flavor, as well as lots of pine and citrus. Astringent, palate-cleansing beer, finishing with pine and tropical fruits lasting for a long time. Lovely, but a bit too much, and the alcohol is so well hidden it makes it dangerous to drink.
