(bottle, as Troldhede Grey Bros. Double Steam Ale, courtesy of Papsoe) Hazy, dark brown colour with a light-beige short foamy head. Sweet and slightly acidic toast-malty aroma with light notes of toffee and citrus. Moderately sweet flavour with a tinge of acidity, moderately carbonated mouthfeel. Toast-malty, slightly fruity taste with light notes of caramel, coffee and a whiff of phenolic spices; slightly sweet and sourish fruity finish. 31.XII.07

Bottle: Hazy, brownish coloured, small, but stable tanned foamy layer, fruity-coffeeish flavour with atinge of toasted malt; moderate sweet-sourish flavour, medium bodied; sourish-fruity, a bit roast-malty finish. O.K., but no repetition necessary......

Bottle, as Gråbrødre Klosterbryg. Pours a slightly hazy, orange-brown, with a fizzy, diminishing, beige head. The aroma has a wee note of fruity sourness, but that is in the far back. It is mostly sweet, caramel-like, with notes of spices, a little yeasty hint and brown sugar. Quite fruity flavor with sugar, some spicy notes, mostly coriander, a little caramel, and some alcohol. A little roasted touch as well. The alcohol and the fruityness continues all the way to the slightly bitter finish fades. Thin mouthfeel, quite effervescent and slightly warming. Not a very successful beer, but with good intetions. (080102)

Bottled (2006 vintage, as "Gråbrødre Klosterbryg). Hazy brown colour, minor head. Aroma is caramel, fruits, slight alcohol and malts. Flavour is malts, slight caramel, spices and hops. A bit empty flavour, but once it gets a bit warmer some slight rubber/metallic hints show up, so I prefer to have it cold...
