Big shiny brown-beige lasting head. Lovely deep red barely translucent body. Powerful harmonic aroma of caramel pudding, syrup, vanilla, and chocolate. Initially mild sweetish chocolatey caramel pudding taste later grows quite powerful. Notes of vanilla, wood, and syrup with some roastiness. Mouthfeel is slightly watery. Good balance. Dry roasty caramel pudding aftertaste. Probably fermented further in the bottle, as it tried to escape out of the bottle on opening, which may have taken some of the sweetness reported by others. Very nice! The first chocolate beer I’ve actually liked. (0.5l bottle from SuperBrugsen, Ordrup. BBD 2007-12-08.)

50 cL bottle, both as Choko and Kjaerstrup stout, tasted head to head - completely the same. Pours dark brown with a red hue and a hue creamy light brown head. Heavy chocolate aroma, dry and spiced. Creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has the same distinct chocolate flavour again as the aroma. Nice dry, a bit dusty, creamy. Mild hops bitterness into the finish, otherwise dominated by the chocolate bitterness it seems.

Clear redbrown color, medium off-white head. Aroma of chocolat, some coffee, cocoa. Lots of dry cocoa in taste, which also makes it quite sweet. Milk chocolat. Bitter and slight sweet aftertaste. Not bad.

Black colour. Large, thick head. The aroma is all sweet chocolate. The flavour is smooth chocolate then turns into a dryish, bitter finish.

Bottle. Small head with medium duration. Color is dark brown. Heavy chocolate aroma and taste. This is not just made by chocolate malts. This has real chocolate/cocoa. Makes me think of Baileys.
