Bottled. Coppery black coour with a lacing beigeish brown mediumsized head. Aroma is chocolate, some toast, caramel, liquorice and some mild alcohol. Flavour is a bunch of dark malts, chocolaty, coffeeish with some dried fruits as well. Mild smoked wet wooden elements together with chocolate and alcohol in the finish.

Bottle Pigs Ear BF. Black colour with tan head. Intense choc/coffee aroma, but a broad level of aromas, not tight. Beautiful condition and intense lovely choc/coffee. Stunning. Great beer. I like most of the Porterhouse beers and this is another good one.

Bottle, kindly provided by KnutAlbert. 10% ABV. A reddish, very dark brown body under a tan head. The aroma is a lovely blend of chocolate, coffee, licorice, malt extract alcohol and notes of oxidation. The flavor is even more lovely, with the same elements found in the aroma as well as a nice bitterness and a slightly more obvious oxidation note. The finish starts hoppy bitter, but soon turns coffee bitter. A beauty. (081031)

500ml bottle from Garthicus, Thanks Al! Nose of coffee, licorice, chocolate, and a light hoppy note; Black as hell with a small tan head; flavor is coffee, chocolate, light hop bitterness, and a molasses note. Finish is chocolate and light hop bitterness. Compares well to a lot of America Impys but with more of an Irish Guinness-like molassesy note.

Pours black with tiny head. Nice burned aroma with coffe, chocolate, liquerice and burned rubber. Good burned flavor but unbalenced with perfurmed and bitter finish.

Thanks to JoeMcPhee for sharing this rarity - an interesting, truly Irish take on an imperial stout - quite smooth and creamy, with a light roastiness and dry mineral qualities (like an amped-up dry stout) - dark chocolate and burnt character, a little leather on the back end - the alcohol content was completely masked - smooth and a pleasure to drink, but lacking the substantial character needed to make it "world class."
