Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 6/12/07. Deep gold with a slight white head. Aroma of grassy and lemon hops. Biscuit malt flavour with a decent dry finish. Good.

Cask at the 3B’s, Reading. Looked like a pint of lager - straw coloured with a white head, but didn’t taste like one! Exploded in the mouth with tart citrus flavours, particularly orange, and a moderate bitterness, leading to a sweeter, marmalade-like, aftertaste. An excellent beer, but not what I expected from a winter seasonal.

Cask gravity at Red Lion, Snargate. Orangey gold colour with no head. Lovely sherberty hop aroma. Moderate fullness in mouth, more rose petal/sherbert hop on end. Really quite lovely. Hops and malt are just in the right balance and the hops never run away with it.
