600 ml bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pour very dark reddish brown with a brownish gray head that quickly dissipates without leaving any trace on the glass. Smell is sweet and slightly sour with lots of coffee, roasted malts, brown sugar, liquorice, burnt wood, burnt sugar and nutmeg. Taste is sweet, tiny bitter and tiny sour with coffee, vanilla, milk chocolate, liquorice fudge, roasted malts, maple syrup, wood and hints of resin. Mouthfeel is silky, tiny tart and medium bodied. Finish is sweet, tiny bitter and tiny sour with coffee, vanilla and roasted malts. Impressive creamy/silky mouthfeel supported by a solid but unspectacular coffee stout...

(600mL bottle w/ Ontario maple syrup from LCBO). Served cooler than cellar temp in a tulip. Poured very dark brown, thin whitish head that dissipated w/ no lacing. Aroma of light coffee, roast, a bit of chocolate, some sweet prune. Taste is initially sweet but not as much as expected, mainly coffee with dark roasted malts, dusty milk chocolate. Coffee takes over mid-palate and finishes bitter with just a bit of fruity caramel malt flavour, no real hop character or sign of maple syrup. Alcohol very well-hidden but mouthfeel fairly thin for the style, moderate carbonation. Not a bad take on a coffee stout but I would prefer more body and flavour concentration.

Tap @the brewpub 25.2.2012. Poured almost black with a thin beige head. Something wrong with this one, both samples had lots of boiled vegetables (beans especially) in aroma, and lots of it. Flavor had the same, but also roasted malt and some coffee in aftertaste.

Bottle @ Dan’s house. Black appearance with a brown head. Amazing, rich coffee, rich milky, silky chocolate aroma. Silky mouth feel. Very tasty, sweet, light chocolate, moderate light roast coffee, milky flavor. Delicious chocolate milky flavor that’s followed by a mild roasty coffee element. Great beer. Fuck yeah.

Bottle from the LCBO. Pours a real dark brown colour with hardly any highlights. Big fizzy light brown head that disappears quickly and no lacing is in sight. The scent is pretty mild with mostly alcohol at first, but goes away with time and very light burnt malt and coffee aromas show up. Watery, watery and watery. Flavours of watered-down roasted malt, nuts and the worst watery coffee you had. Not sure if what I got is the same others got, but this is a rip-off. 10 bucks for a 600ml of this "did I mentioned" - watery brew. 7.5% ABV really ?!!?!

Bottle @ Home. Pours dark brown with a very shortlived tan head, actually looks rather dull and "dead" after the head fades. Aroma of roasted malt, hard roasted coffee, milk, milk chocolate. licorice. Taste is roasted malt, coffee, milk chocolate, english licorice. Rather thin body, low carbonation. Might have been an off bottle, but this one is boring. 140811
