Opaque black beer. Thin and crispish palate (especially for a stout). Mild and well balanced coffee with gently roasted malt. A smooth almost sweet ending with just a bit of hop coming through. A nice clean cut stout that doesn’t try to be a meal replacement! Well joined up and tasty!

Bottle: Poured a clear dark color ale with a nice foamy head with OK retention and some light lacing. Aroma of light dry aromatic coffee with light dry roasted malt with a nice touch of sweet notes. Taste is also a nice mix between aromatic coffee with light dry roasted notes and light lactose-like notes which must be originating from the maple. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very well brewed with nice level complexity and drinkability.

0.6l bottle shared with ClubGonzo. Pours a black body with a bubbly sidesticking off-white head. Quite sweet and malty nose with notes of coffee, raisin and licorice. Body is smooth and full-bodied, the carbonation is quite low. Tastes slightly licorice, burned malts, sweet and some thin coffee. A nice chocolate-bitter finish and a thin chocolate aftertaste.
