600ml Bottle-Black in colour wih a chocolatey tan head. Rich, roasted coffee aroma with a bit of malt. Coffee dominates the taste along and is very noticeable but well balanced and smooth. Liquorice can also be detected along with plain chocolate and the aftertaste lingers with coffee but not too overwhelming. It is very drinkable for the strength and the taste reminds me of a bit of Estonian chocolate called Kamatahvel. Impressive.

Courtesy of Quake1028. Pours deep dark darkness but not totally opaque with thin dark tan head. The aroma is mildly roasty to nearly burnt malts followed by a decent amount of dark roasted coffee beans. But I also get an unmistakable jalapeno pepper (as in a bowl of chili) aroma. Odd. The flavor is rich and tasty with a load of coffee balanced by roasty to chocolate malts mixed with sweet maltiness. Nice flavor and better than the aroma was hinting to.

Black with short lasting brown head. Aroma is packed with coffe and roasted malt. Sweet flavor with bitter coffee, hard roasted malt and chocolate notes. Ends bitter.

wow! i like dark beer, but not strong dark beer. This one stands out. it’s marvelous. so many tastes so thick.. so addictive.. probably the best stout i ever tasted. they say supreme desser-beer. i agree, i don’t want to eat anything as long as i can taste the aftertaste.. great! the coffee part is just right. they have not overdone it.

250ml on tap at Nørrebro Bryghus. This one became one of the highlights during a summer trip to Copenhagen in early august. Coffee aroma in the direction of espresso. Pitch black body. Almost no head. Lightly roasted flavour with a complex, but balanced taste of coffee beans, cocoa, discreet liquorice and even some dark fruits. The finish is made up of smooth bitterness (03.08.2007).

CBF07 sample from tap. Pours black/broen with a huge creamy brown head. Aroma of coffee, slight fruit note beneath. Mouthfeel is soft. Flavour is first sweet fruity, followed by coffee and goes into a lovely coffee and hops bitter finish. Slight edge to the coffee flavour.

(Draught at Nörrebro Bryghus, Copenhagan, 17 May 2007) Black colour with short beige head. Roasted, slightly nutty nose with dark fruit, malt and hints of juniper berries. Roasted taste with black coffee, juniper berries, cola. Some sweetish notes peep through. Lacking some balance, the roasted (or rather burnt) coffee and malt give it a slightly ashy character. Wouldn’t suffer from some creamy chocolatey notes. Still, very tasty. (7/4/7/4/14=3.4) Rerate: (Bottle 3 May 2013) Dark brown colour, almost black, with hints of ruby when seen through light. Frothy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with freshly ground coffee, dark rye bread, dark fruit and hints of ashes. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, dark fruit, black rye bread, a touch of molasses and a balanced coffee bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Well balanced and tasty. Nice one.

Tap, Norrebro Bryghus. Dark opaque color, some brown lacing. Aroma of fresh coffee, licorice. Dry and bitter stout taste, not creamy though. Texture is more like cola, quite sparkling. If it was creamy with chocolat, it would have been very good. Now it’s only decent.
