500ml bottle, thanks to Skinnyviking. Beige, bubbly foam topping a devil-black body. Vague dark malty to the nose. Overall dry malty taste with a peaty touch. Cheese and wood also play a part in the flavour. Rounded palate and quite easy going (shared with Finn A., 29.05.2008).

500ml bottle @ RBNAG’07. Dark brown body with a small beige head. Mild aroma of malt, caramel and brown sugar. Flavor is quite sweet malt, caramel and liquorices. Quite nice, but a bit to sweet in accordance to a light body make this a bit unbalanced.

Sampled bottle, RBNAG 2007 in Grimstad. Black colour, low head. Surprisingly moderate aroma, some malts, hints of coffee. The flavour is better: roasted malts, notes of coffee and chocolate.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a brown shine under a thick brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of chocolate and roasted malt, as well as light notes of licorice. The flavor is sweet and the mouthfeel very smooth, at first with mainly chocolate notes, but in a subdued way, but then the roasted notes gains in strength with notes of coffee, and a bitterness that lingers on the palate, while a sweetness lingers on the tongue. In the aftertaste there’s also light notes of grapefruit from the hops. Quite intrigueing flavor composition.

Bottle at Frederikshavn øl- og vinfestival 07. Black colour, light brown head. OK roasted flavour, but not too exciting. No chocolate or coffee notes. Slightly rough bitterness. Decent.
