Browny orange with white head. Vinous aroma. Good balance between spices, sweetness (dark fruits) and alcohol. The texture is quite filling and the finish is long lasting and warm from the alcohol. One of their better products!

Nice orange amber colouring, low on visible carbonation, amber blanket head. Nutty, light fruity (peach) and caramel aroma, a pinch ethanol. Metallic bitter notes punch through the flavor, nutty malt, light roasted caramel notes. Oily mouthfeel, long sweet sugary finish, herbal edge.

Amber beer with off white, bubbly head. Disappointingly simple aroma of malt and apples and a metallic note. Alcohol dominates the flavour which is quite sweet. It’s far from the worst Danish 10% beer, but compared to the best barley wines, it’s very disappointing.

A hazy orange beer with a light colored head. The aroma is sweet and alcoholic with some notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet and again dominated by the alcohol, but also with strong notes of over ripe fruit, leading to a dry metallic end - I guess the metal comes from the alcohol. This is a very mainstream Barley Wine - the style can perform so much better than this example, hence I find it boring.

(Bottle 50 cl) Slightly hazy amber with tiny, floating particles. Small, off-white head. Vinous aroma with distinctive alcohol. Full-bodied with notes of sherry - perhaps even cognac - and overripe plums. Warming alcoholic finish - a true sipping beer. 291005

Bottle. Dark copper colour, small head. Very malty, some bonbon and some aroma hops. Bonbon aftertaste. Peppery. Bitterness is not high, but a little rough.
One year later, bottle again. Still the same rating, nothing has changed. Seems quite unbalanced and probably could use a year or two more.
