Our Brown Ale is the first beer we started making at the brewery in 2001, after making soft drinks since 1997. Fortunately it was such a success that it won an organic gold medal in 2002. After that, there was no holding us back in our beer adventure. Brown Ale is a full-bodied, creamy beer made with American hops. They lend the beer a delightful, yet discreet citrus-fruit aroma alongside caramelised and toasted malt. It tastes sweet and rich with notes of toffee, chocolate, coffee and liquorice with a mellow sweetness and mild, hoppy bitterness.

Nyhavn dark ale, drukket i Nyhavn. Mørk orangebrun med beige kremete skum. Malt og karamellukt. Søt karamell og noe humlebitterhet i smaken. Kort, noe bitterhet sitter igjen. Lite kullsyre

Bottle, as Dybbøl Mølleøl. Pours clear copper brown with airy but stable beige head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel and dried fruit. Fain, sweetish onset, giving way to hoppy notes and touches of roasted caramel malt. Looks like there is sort of nothing in between, as the mouthfeel is rather watery, despite medium carbonation. Mildly bitter finish. Drinkable and fairly decent but not my favourite Brown Ale.

50 cl bottle, label says 5 % alc. Dark brown colour with a lighter, golden tint. Creamy, off-white head, that slowly fades. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, nuts, lightly roasted and vague hints of chocolate. Taste is light sweet. Light to medium body, creamy texture, a little to carbonated. Lightly roasted bitter finish with a bit of nuts. A bit thin. Yes, it´s quite simple however, still enjoyable.

Flaske 0,33l - Merket Nyhavn Dark Ale - på Nyhavn Færgekro 2 Nov 11 i hyggelig selskap. Dyp amber. OK kremaktig skum som varer en stund. God karamellaroma. Smaken litt maltig med innslag av karamell. OK matøl - selv om det nydelige sildbordet hadde fortjent bedre ølutvalg.
