This classic beer style was inspired by centuries of Celtic brewing history. Specialty roasted malts such as crystal and carastan dominate Irish Red Ale resulting in a ruby red colour and smooth malty taste.

On tap at their Oxford taproom. Pours clear ruddy amber with a beige head. Light bread and caramel on the nose. Flavour has some bread crusts, a bit of dry caramel. It's okay, not the most convincing malt expression, but it's an okay red.

nice amber red, small off white head. Nice maltiness, and quite smooth. flavour is sweet, with a good malt backbone, decent stuff.

6/10/2023. Taster at Ulfborg courtesy of saxo. Pours hazy pale amber with a frothy off-white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, fruits, bread. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness, light tartness. Moderate body, average carbonation. It's okay.

Sample @Ulfborg. Cloudy amber, offwhite head. Malty, slightly earthy hops aroma. Bitter, malty flavour, some fruity notes too.

Tap @ the brewery. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are caramel, toasted malt, hops and has a nice bitter finish.

Pours with a lighter amber than expected and pretty nice head but it is gone quickly. Soft sweet malt aroma and no hoppiness. Flavour is muddy wheat hops, murky grains, bread and cabbage all over the place. Slight citrus finish. Not very impressive.
