A very malty beer with a fair amount of residual sweetness. The hop character is subdued, with a delicate aroma and just enough bitterness to balance the sweet finish. This beer is intended to be consumed at a leisurely pace, since it has some strength.(late-April into May)

Sampled on draft the brewpub this beer poured a reddish brown color with a medium sized foamy yellow-white head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was sweet golden fruits and simple syrup. The flavor was toasty with caramel, golden fruits and bread crust. Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied. Well done.

Super hazy amber and copper coloured body with a very nice 2 centimetre tall tan head and some very nice chunky orange tints - beautiful beer. Aroma of a lot of malt, some specialty grains, a bit of toast and some caramelised sugars. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong malt flavours at first dominate with some rye and bitterness along with some toffee, earth and alcohol warmth near the end. Aftertaste shows some of the malt pungency still, but the sugars come through more at the end, along with a bit of grain and alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice and super dense maibock, and in all honesty, a deep beer for any lager, even for doppelbocks or weizenbocks! Nice to sample on draught and to have here in the state of Virginia! I sampled this sixteen ounce pint on draught at Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia at the end of my driveway on 14-September-2016 for US$4,00.
