Half-litre, on-tap, 11th Sep 2018; outside the Hofbrau, Bamberg. Looked lovely in its own glass, clear and clean copper colour with a beige head of smooth foam. Malty molasses ruled the nose and taste of this fairly sweet Dunkel, my sweet tooth taking a liking it immediately. Some fruity notes in the flavour also.

Bottle. Pours clear copper brown with airy but stable beige head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel, with notes of yeast and mild touches of hops. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt and yeast. Notes of hops and touches of cake. Bitterish and estery aftertaste with acidic hints. Reasonable for the style.

(Bottle, 0.5 l - BB 10.05.2018, from Alko, 20170428) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, caramel and mildly treacle. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, caramel, grass, treacle and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, malty and bitter. A bit too sweet dunkel. Nice maltiness.

50cl bottle from Alko. The beer pours mahogany color with a thick off white head. Bready malty aroma, molasses, sweetness. Light bodied, caramel and dark bread in flavor. Needs more body. Short finish.

Dark chestnut colour, good beige head and some lace. Bready, caramelly aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Rye bready, caramelly, a bit fizzy carbonation. Sweetish. Typical solid German dunkel. This one comes with some industrial vibe.

A brown beer, a medium head is light beige. Aroma has strong breadyness, some herbs and syrup. Taste has breadyness and sweetness of syrup. Medium bodied, smooth. Too sweet, decent.

Kaum Schaum, wenig Perligkeit. In der Nase röstig malzig. Im Trunk kernig, malzig, bitter, etwas Schoko im Abgang. Ganz netter Durchschnitt. Etwas flach in der Summe vielleicht.
