Extremely dark mahogany brown meets light black topped with a khaki cap that escapes to the edge.
Nose is dark chocolate, bug rummy waft, molasses, fruit cake mix, vinous, herb, figs.
Taste comprises molasses, toffee melt, hint of coffee, spice, herb, rummy bite, booze, toasted brown sugar, figs, dates.
Full bodied, oily feel, semi drying close with a balanced spike of alcohol.
Solid punchy and ballsy Life with a good barrel blast.

Green wax Near clear deep amber brown beer, short lived bubbly tan head. Nose is heady rum alcohol, not sure you need to drink this to get beyond the point of being quite unfit to drive, the nose is enough to land you rightly in the slammer! Palate is smooth and semi dry, modest superfine carbonation. Rich toffee malts, a little caramel, neither aspects particularly sweet. The rum barrelling is totally front and centre. Big rich ripe fruity rum, estery rum and a fair dose of alcohol spice and warmth. Smooth and semi dry finish. One of those barleywines utterly behoven to its barrel and, that's a very good thing here. Long rum soaked ripe fruits linger. Grown ups beer! P.s. Galaxy hops in here, good luck finding even a trace of those!
