Pint Can. Gift from Bacchus66. Dark Brown pour with a big clumpy off-white head that has fair retention. The aroma is a good strong smoke that evokes fire pit residue, roasted chestnuts, bacon and some spice similar to paprika. The taste follows the nose with sweet smoked meats and some pleasingly bitter ash. There is a touch of acidity that offsets the sweetness of the porter. Palate is medium in viscosity and appropriate for the style. Finishes long with a bit of sticky sweetness. Overall: A fine smoked porter. Paired with some Beehive Cajun Cheese and much to my surprise they paired rather nicely. This is a brew made for those who love smoked beer.
