Brewed using a blend of English malts. Magnum hops are used for the early hop addition, with Goldings for finishing and dry hopping. A very flavorful and hoppy ale.

Bottle. Amber with a slight, short-lived off-white head. Aroma of spicy hops with some malty sweetness. Flavour was earthy with a hoppy finish. Not bad.

Bottle at Københavnske Øldage. Clear, copper pour with a small, beige head. The nose is too weak I think, with malt and hops, but too weak and boring, yet nice. Malt and hops in a nice union in the flavor, but far from a world class beer. Medium body and a mostly hoppy finish. It’s not a bad beer, but I would like an IPA to be fuller, more complex and hoppier. (070512)

Not very good at all. Orange color. Light, bitter hop aroma. Weak hop flavor and a dry finish. They are attempting to appeal to a wide market I suspect, and sacrificing quality to do it.

Bottle. Dark golden color, with a thick head. Aroma is hoppy, with pines, and spices. Flavor is that of pines, toffee, and hops. From what I expected it was a little less hoppy since many of their other ales are pretty hoppy for the variety they’re in. Solid though.

Bottled vintage 2007 (BB 01/2008)
Copper/amber color, small off-white head. Flowery grassy aroma with pine needles. Pineneedle-hoppy flavor. Bitterish palate with typical Sierra Nevada -yeasty notes. Balanced and standard session IPA with nice long bitter aftertaste.

This beer is misnamed. It is more of an amber ale than an IPA. Mild aroma of malt with a little hoppiness. Somewhat hoppy taste without the big hoppiness of an IPA or medium hoppiness of a Cape Ale. I wouldn’t call the finish soapy, more like slippery with a little bitterness.
