Brewed using a blend of English malts. Magnum hops are used for the early hop addition, with Goldings for finishing and dry hopping. A very flavorful and hoppy ale.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a clear, amber golden with an off-white head. Hoppy aroma. Medium body with weak notes of caramel. A whiff of pineapple perhaps? Some aroma hops, but I don’t really find the hops clean, crisp or citrusy. Extremely dry, hoppy finish. 110606

Bottle. Pours dark copper with a small head. Grassiness in the nose- no citrus detectable. Flavor is much like a hoppy lager... and has an objectional funk to it. Yea, it’s hoppy... but not tasty.

Thoroughly enjoyed this nicely balanced English-style IPA. The aroma was filled with floral hops with hints of sweet fruits especially orange. The hop flavor, too, was predominantly floral, but the perfumey taste that oftens comes to the fore in this style beer was subdued. Instead, slightly sweet malts and flavors of dough and caramel rode on top. The mouthfeel was crisp and dry.

On draught at Barley’s Smokehouse, a relatively new entry in the local market. Deep amber color with a thin and dense off-white head. Thin spotty lacing. Aroma of bready malt and mild hops. Medium, creamy body with honey and caramel flavor as well as toned-down hops. Citrus notes here and there as well. Decent enough but nothing really resonates. The finish is dry and mildly bitter citrusy hops. While not bad, Sierra Nevada can clearly do better than this.

Pours a light amber into a shaker. Nice conglomerate head with good staying power. -- lacing as it recedes. Slightly sour aroma. Bitter up front with a flat, long-lasting malty finish -- slightly sweet aftertaste.

Floral and fruity aroma with notably present hops. Smells slightly sweet with a hint of malt in the background. Color is a beautiful light copper with a pretty substantial frothy head. Flavor is sweeter than I expected and fairly crisp and light. Hops definitely are the dominant feature, but this is a pretty interesting addition to SN’s lineup. I would say that it fails in some ways as an IPA: it is very light and crisp, and the hops, while they are the central feature, are quite different from most IPA’s that I really enjoy. I’d probably have enjoyed this one more if they had just billed it as a Pale or something and didn’t get my hopes up. Reminds me a lot of Schlafly’s American Pale Ale and doesn’t hold a candle to SN’s Celebration Ale.

Pour is orange with a white head. Aroma is not that hoppy. I was almost shocked to find the aroma is very weak and almost hard to find. Flavor is not much better. Weak hops and malts make up this one. Maybe i got a bad bottle as this is below average and not in the same catagory with the other Sierra Neveda beers.

Clear amber body that holds up a decent off-white head. Somewhat weak hop aroma. Slightly bitter flavor, enough malt sweetness to add some balance. Overall it’s just another IPA and a real disappointment considering the same brewery makes a fine Pale Ale, Harvest Ale and Celebration Ale.

[At Stockholm Beer Festival 2005] An amber beer with an orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of straw and hops - without being extreme. The flavor is very sweet with notes of caramel and straw. The mouthfeel is slightly sticky.
