Dispatched each day at dawn, Odin’s two ravens fly the world over, bringing news from the land of men back to the Norse god by nightfall. What secrets do they gather as they spy from on high, or scavenge from the leavings of men? Next time the birds call at your door, perhaps a glass of Blackmail - with its rich, round and slightly sweet character - will still their extortive tongues.

Poured from 473mL can. Near black with beige head. Cocoa and toasted malt, quite light with a quick finish. Doesn't really satisfy in the end - needs more finish.

473ml can from Taps Beer Bar, Changkat, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a frothy off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, chocolate, lactose. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, roasty, liqouirce, creamy chocolate palate and a lingering liqouirce bitter finish. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Nice blackety blackness with just a little head. Soft sweet roasted barley on the nose though it does not propel upward much. Flavour is mellow roasted barley with chocolate notes. Mouthfeel is okay but should be fuller for a brew like this. An okay sweet stout.

On tap. Pours black with light head. Light aromas of acidic coffee, sugar, and roasted malts. Flavors follow though getting some creamy lactose.

On tap at the brewery with Alex and Eugen. Pours an opaque almost black with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malt with coffee notes. Taste is the same with some dark fruits notes. Quite pleasant stuff.

Medium brown without much head. Aroma is gentle and a touch roasty. Body is light, it’s toasty and a bit crackery, kind of has a watery coffee character. Easy-drinking, though I might want more sweetness and lactose character.

Draught at the brewery
Dark brown color with barely any head. Dry stout with a moderate level of roastiness; it has indeed some lactose flavor in the final, bit it’s much less sweet than a milk stout; clean and balanced; off style, but not bad.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a dark mahogany with a small tan head. Aroma brings out bitter cocoa and a touch of lactose - smells like a dry stout. Flavour is quite milky, with lactose upfront, and finishing on a dry bitter cocoa note. Not very dynamic or complex, and has a somewhat astringency on the finish. Meh - it's okay.
