The Daintree in Australia’s tropical North is an idyllic escape where rainforest meets the sea and was the ideal inspiration for this Mango Smoothie IPA. Expect more body than your run-of-the-mill IPA; Tropical and citrus hops and a large dose of fresh mango puree give this beer an exotic aroma, with lower bitterness and a more prominent fruit character offering flavours of mango, peach and passionfruit.

Can from Tesco and drunk at home. Turbid orange deep orange slightly amber colour lasting thin cream head. Tropical fruit aroma, a little mango I guess. Mango juice with a little sweet lactose I guess. not a lot of bitterness. It's not really my thing. The flavour is not my favourite and there is a woody juicy flavour on the finish that I'm not that keen on. Hmmmm.

The Merchant. Keg. Hazy orange - mango beer, small pale cream colour head. Light palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Nice combo of light creamy malts, pine, juicy mango and a rising bitterness. Finishes with some hop burn. Good fruit IPA.

440ml can from Tesco. Poured a hazy orange golden colour with a short-lived, fizzy, off white head. The aroma is malt, mangos, stone fruit, fresh green hops. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a crisp, fresh, mineral, grassy, citrus fruit, dry pepper spice, hop bitter palate and some hop burn in the lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A whole lot better than I was expecting.
