Hazy, amber-brown colour with a medium head. Quite sweet, smokey with toffee, and a pretty big amburana character. There’s some tannic dryness. This has a real cocktail vibe for a doppelbock.

Poured from the tap @ Steamworks Mt Pleasant. Clear amber brown with minimal white head. Mild amburana wood spice with mild caramel and toffee malt. Medium body, not a ton of depth, but the amburana saves it.

On tap at Steamworks - Mt Pleasant, pours a clear dark burgundy with a small beige head. Aroma reveals wonderful amburana character, a touch of cherries, and toasted caramel underneath — driven by that beautiful wood though. Flavour delivers, revealing more of the cherries, caramel malt, and nicely accentuated by the wood. The amburana is less forward than the pilot batch in 2024 without cherries, but this is still quite pleasant.

Flight pour at the downtown taproom. Pours murky brown. Tons of amburana and bready malts on the nose. Flavour has a lot of that amburana wood, nice caramel sweetness, and some bready malts. Fantastic.
